Troubleshooting

My hinge(s) are binding.

1. Confirm both hinges are mounted in-line and parallel to the picture frame edges.

(Even a slight deviation from parallel can cause binding.)

Remedies:

The hinges are designed with a small amount of space around the screws in each hole. Loosen the screws slightly adjust hinges to parallel and re-tighten. *(Not enough space to adjust for parallel around screws?)
Most picture frames are identical along all sides, you can unscrew the hinges, rotate the frame around and remount the hinges on opposite side (also rotate image/art); you may choose to fill previous screw holes.
Or, choose an alternate picture frame.

2. Confirm both hinges are precisely in-line with each-other on the wall.

(Any off-set between alignment can cause binding.)

Remedies:

The hinges are designed with a small amount of space around the screws in each hole. Loosen the screws slightly adjust hinges to parallel and re-tighten.
Most picture frames are identical along all sides, you can unscrew the hinges, rotate the frame around and remount the hinges on opposite side (rotate image/art); you may choose to fill previous screw holes.
Or, choose an alternate picture frame.
If wall anchors were installed out of alignment, remove lower wall anchors, repair drywall and re-install in plumb/aligned with upper anchor locations.

3. Confirm your picture frame is not warped.

(Place the un-installed picture frame on flat surface.)

Remedies: (if warped)

Choose an alternate picture frame.

4. Confirm your wall is flat both horizontally and vertically.

(Use long straight-edge.)

Remedies: (if wall is bowed/dipped)

Choose an alternate location.

5. Confirm your hinges were not damaged/bent during the installation.
